Denise Guerin, the artist: "I grew up Catholic, but was always drawn to Native American beliefs. I was always fascinated with elements of nature, and the energies that I felt Mother Nature held. I always felt like I might have have some Native American ancestry, but at the time it was just a feeling. I enjoyed going to pow wows, which is where I learned about energies contained within stones. It wasn't till about ten years ago I found out I was descended from the Malecite tribe, located along the St. Lawrence Seaway.

In studying my ancestry, and going to the powwows, I learned many things about alternative spiritual beliefs, and learned to respect and appreciate the wisdom and faith of many paths. The creation of many of my pieces is inspired by the many paths I've learned about, and how to combine the different energies from the stones.
